About All the Best
All the Best celebrates Queensland’s favourite local businesses and destinations in the lead-up to Queensland Day on 6 June 2026. From the best burgers to the best barber, Queenslanders are encouraged to showcase their region’s best by voting for their local favourites across 15 categories. The entry with the highest number of votes in each category will be recognised as the category winner of All the Best in Queensland.
Voting Categories
Queenslanders can vote for their favourite Queensland businesses and destinations in the following categories:
- Florist
- Hairdresser/barber
- Butcher
- Gym
- Camping/4WD spot
- Tourism attraction
- Pizzeria
- Bakery
- Fish and chip shop
- Bánh mì place
- Ice cream shop
- Burger joint
- Café
- Pub
- Beach
Voting Criteria
To ensure fairness and authenticity, all voting entries must meet the following criteria:
- The business or destination must be located in Queensland.
- The business or destination must align with the category for which it is being voted.
- Note: Only one vote per category is permitted for each unique email address.
Additionally, for businesses, they must have a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) and be currently operating.
How to Vote
- Register and verify your email address
- Select the category you would like to vote for
- Select/search for the business you would like to vote for, and submit your vote via the online form with the following details:
- Name of the business or destination
- Suburb of the business or destination
- You can only vote once per person, per category
Celebrate Queensland Day
The winners of the All the Best will be announced as part of the Queensland Day celebrations in the lead up to Queensland Day. Winning entries will receive recognition only and will be invited to participate in an All the Best event in Brisbane during Queensland Day week.
Important Notes
- Ensure all information provided is accurate and complete to validate your vote.
- Votes that do not meet the criteria or contain incomplete information may be deemed invalid.
- Voting closes 5.00pm (AEST) Thursday 28 May 2026. Votes must be submitted before the deadline to be counted.
- Businesses or destinations may choose to opt out of the competition at any time prior to the announcement of winners by providing written notice to the State at [email protected]. Upon withdrawal, the business or destination will no longer be eligible as a finalist or winning recipient.
- The State reserves the right to disqualify any votes or entries that are incomplete, fraudulent, or do not comply with the competition’s Terms and Conditions.

All the Best – Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern the All the Best competition as part of the broader Queensland Day program, celebrating Queensland’s favourite local businesses and destinations.
1.2 By participating in the competition, voters and participating businesses agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Business Eligibility
2.1 To be eligible as a finalist/recipient/winner, the business or destination must:
- Be Queensland based
- Align with one of the 15 competition categories
- Hold a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) (if applicable)
- Be operational at the time of voting (if applicable).
2.2 Individuals are not eligible to win this competition.
2.3 Employees of the State, their immediate family members, and any agencies or contractors directly associated with the competition are not eligible to participate in the competition.
2.4 The State reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any business or destination at any time.
3. Voting process
3.1 Votes must be submitted online via the official competition website at qld.gov.au/qldday
3.2 A vote will only be deemed valid if it includes a validated email address per person, per category.
3.3 A vote will only be deemed valid if it includes all required information:
- Full name of the business or destination.
- Location (suburb or town).
3.3 Voting closes at 5.00pm (AEST), Thursday 28 May 2026 (the Closing Date).
3.4 All votes must be received by the Closing Date. No responsibility will be accepted for late, lost, incomplete, or misdirected votes.
3.5 Notification of top entries:
- The State will make reasonable efforts to notify the winners in each category after the voting period has closed.
3.6 Disclaimer on Informal Names and Abbreviations:
The State is not responsible for any misunderstandings arising from the use of informal names, abbreviations, or colloquial terms (e.g., “The Paddo” for the Paddington Hotel). To avoid confusion, voters are encouraged to use full and accurate names when submitting their votes.
3.7 Withdrawal from the Competition:
- A business or destination may withdraw from the competition by providing written notice to the State at any time prior to the announcement of the winners.
- Upon withdrawal, the business or destination will no longer be eligible to be named as a finalist or winner in the competition and will not be displayed on the website or leaderboard.
- The State will confirm the withdrawal in writing to the business or destination.
3.8 The State reserves the right to reject or disqualify any entry at its absolute discretion, including but not limited to cases where:
- The entry does not comply with these Terms and Conditions.
- The entry and information provided is false or misleading.
- The entry is submitted via automated bot activity, scripts, bulk voting services or any form of non-human or fraudulent participation. Entries/votes generated by anything other than a real person may be disqualified at the State’s discretion.
- The entry brings the competition into public disrepute, offends public opinion, or reflects unfavourably on the competition’s reputation.
4. Voting
4.1 Voting is open to anyone who submits their vote from within Queensland.
4.2 Each individual may cast one vote per category.
4.3 Votes must be submitted via the official competition website and include all required details including a valid email address.
4.4 Businesses or destinations are not required to register to participate in the competition. All entries and nominations of businesses and destinations are submitted by the public through the voting process. The State does not pre-select or register participants for the competition.
4.5 The State reserves the right to disqualify any votes that are incomplete, fraudulent, or do not comply with these Terms and Conditions.
4.6 In the event of a tie or an inconclusive result, the State reserves the right to:
- Conduct a secondary voting process to determine the winner; or
- Appoint an independent panel to make the final decision based on the merits of the tied entries; or
- Declare joint winners where appropriate.
The decision made by the State in such circumstances will be final and binding.
5. Winning
5.1 The entry with the most valid votes in each category will be announced as the winner of the specific category, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.
5.2 Winners will be announced during Queensland Day week.
5.3 Winners will receive recognition only as part of the Queensland Day celebrations. No monetary or other material prizes will be awarded unless otherwise specified.
5.4 Winning entries will be invited to participate in an All the Best event in Brisbane held during Queensland Day week.
5.5 The Queensland Government will coordinate and cover the costs of travel to and from the event for the winners for up to two people per winning category and one night’s accommodation. However, winners will be responsible for covering their own expenses, including meals and beverages, travel insurance (if required), any personal expenses incurred during the trip, any loss of income or wages due to time away from work, and any other costs not explicitly covered by the Queensland Government. Clear instructions regarding the travel arrangements covered by the Queensland Government and any other relevant details will be provided to ensure transparency.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 By participating in the competition, voters acknowledge that the State will obtain all necessary approvals from the businesses or destinations to use publicly and non-publicly available information about the businesses or destinations receiving votes for promotional and marketing purposes related to the competition.
6.2 The State will obtain all necessary approvals from the businesses or destinations before using any public and non-public materials or information about the businesses or destinations for promotional and marketing purposes related to the competition
6.3 The State will not claim ownership of any intellectual property belonging to the businesses or destinations featured in the competition.
7. Liability
7.1 Liability for Voters:
To the extent permitted by law, the State is not liable for any loss or damage suffered or incurred by any voter in connection with the competition, including but not limited to:
- Indirect or consequential losses by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent by the State, its employees, sub-contractors or agents; and
- Costs incurred in preparing and/or submitting votes.
7.2 Liability for Winners
To the extent permitted by law, the State is not liable for any loss or damage suffered or incurred by any winner in connection with the competition, including but not limited to:
- Indirect or consequential losses by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent by the State, its employees, sub-contractors or agents; and
- Costs associated with attending the announcement for up to two people per winning category, except for travel arrangements and one night’s accommodation coordinated and covered by the Queensland Government. Winners are responsible for covering their own expenses, meals and beverages, travel insurance (if required), any personal expenses incurred during the trip, any loss of income or wages due to time away from work, and any other costs not explicitly covered by the Queensland Government.
7.3 The State is not responsible for any comments, viewpoints, or expressions, whether direct or implied, concerning any entry.
7.4 By submitting a vote, voters agree to indemnify and hold harmless the State, its employees, agents, and contractors from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from their participation in the competition or the use of submitted materials.
7.5 By submitting a vote, voters agree not to bring any claims against the State.
7.6 The State will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms and Conditions due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, or government restrictions.
8. Privacy
8.1 Personal information collected, used and disclosed as part of the competition will be handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) and the Queensland Privacy Principles.
8.2 By submitting a vote, the participants consents to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information including first name, last name and email address, for the purposes of administering the competition.
8.3 The participant agrees that their personal information will be collected by the State for the purpose of administering the competition and promoting the winners using the software WP Engine through Formidable Forms, a WordPress based platform.
8.4 Information collected using the software WP Engine will remain in Australia.
8.5 The State will not disclose personal information to third parties except as required by law or with the participant’s consent.
9. Dispute Resolution
9.1 In the event of any dispute arising in connection with the competition, the decision of the State will be final and binding.
9.2 No correspondence or discussion will be entered into regarding the outcome of the competition.
10. Fraudulent or Unlawful Activity
10.1 The State reserves the right to disqualify any vote or entry that it reasonably suspects to be fraudulent, tampered with, or submitted in violation of these Terms and Conditions or any applicable laws.
11. Use of Third-Party Platforms
11.1 The State is not responsible for any technical issues, delays, or failures of third-party platforms used in connection with the competition, including but not limited to online voting systems or social media platforms.
12. General
12.1 The State reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or cancel the competition at any time, whether before, on, or after the Closing Date. Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will be communicated to participants via the official competition website.
12.2 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, and any disputes arising in connection with the competition will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
Privacy Information
Your personal information will be handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (IP Act) and the Queensland Privacy Principles (QPPs).
The State of Queensland through the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (‘the State’) is collecting personal information to administer the Queensland Day All the Best program (‘the program’).
The contact details that you provide on the voting form may be used by the State to seek further information regarding your vote for the program and to notify you of upcoming events, initiatives and programs administered by the State. If you choose not to provide your name and contact details, we will not be able to count your vote or notify you of upcoming events, initiatives and programs administered by the State.
You should be aware that information provided by you may be subject to disclosure under the Right to Information Act 2009. Your personal information will not be otherwise used or disclosed without your consent unless authorised or required by law.
If at any time you would like your personal information removed from our database, please email [email protected] with your request.
The program is being conducted using Formidable Forms, a WordPress-based online form used to collect, store, and manage information submitted by users through a website. Information you provide using Formidable Forms and the WordPress platform will be stored securely in Australia and only transferred outside Australia where reasonably necessary to administer the program and subject to the State’s privacy protections. - The 2026 Queensland Day All the Best Prize Draw (“Prize Draw”) is conducted by the State of Queensland acting through the Department of the Premier and Cabinet ABN 65 959 415 158, 1 William Street, Brisbane, Queensland 4000 (“State”)
- Persons accept these terms and conditions by participating in this Prize Draw.
Entry
- This Prize Draw commences at Thursday 2 April 2026 and closes at 5.00pm AEST on 28 May 2026 (“Entry Period”)
- This Prize Draw is only open to individuals who:
- enter the prize draw (“Entry”) for the All the Best competition during the Entry Period
- place at least one vote for All the Best competition
- as at 6 June 2026 are aged 18 years or over (“Entrant”)
- To be eligible to win a prize (“Eligible Entry”), the Entry must:
- not be an Entry from an employee of the State involved in the administration of the All the Best Prize Competition or this Prize Draw or a member of their immediate family;
- include the Entrant’s name and email address.
- One vote equals one Entry.
- The State may, at any time accept, reject or remove any Entry that it considers, in its absolute discretion, is inappropriate or is not an Eligible Entry.
Prize
- The Queensland Day All the Best Prize Draw prize (“Prize”) is a prize pack including:
- 4x All World Annual Passes to the value of $676
- 1x SkyPoint Dining Experience to the value of $150
- 1x Flight Centre Travel Voucher to the value of $1,000
- The total Prize pack is valued up to $1,826.
- Prize is subject to Dreamworld, SkyPoint and Flight Centre terms and conditions from time of voting, including Terms of Use available here: Terms & conditions | Dreamworld (“Dreamworld Terms”), Terms and Conditions | SkyPoint (“SkyPoiny Dining Experience”) and Gift Card Terms of Use for Flight Centre (“Flight Centre Terms”). The Prize must be used according to Dreamworld Terms and Conditions (“Dreamworld Terms”), SkyPoint Dining Experience Terms and Conditions and Flight Centre Terms of Use.
- The Prize will be awarded to one Entrant, who has submitted an Eligible Entry, picked at random.
- The Prize is not redeemable for cash and is not exchangeable, transferable, or refundable.
- Any additional costs associated with redeeming the Prize are not included.
- If the Prize is unavailable for any reason, the State may, in its absolute discretion and without notice, substitute the Prize with another prize of equal or higher value as determined by the State to be reasonable.
Winner
- The Prize Draw is a game of chance, and the Winner will be the first entry drawn at random by a State representative from the pool of eligible entries.
- On Friday 12 June 2026, the State will randomly select a winner (“Winner”) for the Prize.
- The Winner will be notified by 5.00pm AEST on Monday 15 June 2026 using the winning Entrant’s contact details provided on the Entry. It is the Entrant’s responsibility to ensure that their contact details are correct and up-to-date.
- The Winner must accept the Prize by 5.00pm AEST Friday 19 June 2026. If the Prize is not accepted by this date, it will be forfeited, and no substitute or compensation will be provided and the Winner will not have any claim whatsoever against the State.
- To accept the Prize, the Winner must produce evidence of identity and age in the form of a Queensland Government issued photo identification or proof of identity.
- If a Winner cannot be contacted on the contact details provided, a winning Entry is found to not be an Eligible Entry or the Winner does not accept the Prize by 5.00pm AEST on Friday 19 June 2026, the State will deem the Prize as unclaimed (and forfeited) and randomly select another Winner. This process for selecting a Winner will be repeated if required.
- By entering the Prize Draw, the Winner agrees to:
- Use the Prize pack according to Dreamworld, SkyPoint and Flight Centre Terms and Conditions; and
- the State publishing their name in print and online including, without limitation, on the State’s websites and social media accounts (including Facebook and Instagram).
Personal information
- The Entrant acknowledges and agrees that their personal information provided as part of the Entry will be collected, used and disclosed by the State for the purpose of administering this Prize Draw, including conducting the draw and notifying the Winner.
- The Winner acknowledges and agrees that the State may use and disclose their name in print and online including, without limitation, on the State’s website and social media accounts (including Facebook and Instagram), for the purpose of reporting on and promoting the Prize Draw.

General
- If this Prize Draw is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the State, the State may, in its absolute discretion and to the fullest extent permitted by law, modify, suspend or terminate this Prize Draw.
- The State must ensure compliance with all terms and conditions imposed by Dreamworld, SkyPoint Dining Experience, and Flight Centre regarding the use of their products as competition prizes and the promotion of the competition. To the extent permitted by law, the State and its employees, agents, and contractors are not liable for any costs and expenses, claims, injuries, loss or damage suffered or incurred by any person in relation to the prize draw, including but not limited to, consequential and indirect losses by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the State and its employees, agents, and contractors.
- The State may vary or amend these terms and conditions at any time, whether during or after the Entry Period.
- The State’s decision in relation to any aspect of this Prize Draw is final and binding on the Entrant and no correspondence will be entered into.
- These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland.
Conditions of entry
- The State of Queensland through the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (the State) is the organiser of the QLD Awards (the Awards).
- In these conditions of entry: ‘Nomination Criteria’ means the Nomination Criteria as set out in the Awards guidelines.
Entry requirements
- A nomination will only be eligible if:
- a true and complete nomination, which addresses the Nomination Criteria, is submitted online at www.qld.gov.au/qldday
- the nomination complies with these conditions of entry.
- Nominations close 5pm, Monday 18 May 2026 (the Closing Date).
- All nominations must be received by the Closing Date. No responsibility is accepted for lost or misdirected nominations, or nominations received after the Closing Date.
- All nominees must have been born in Queensland, resided in Queensland, and/or made a meaningful contribution or impact in Queensland throughout their life.
- In the case of posthumous nominees, the State will seek consent from the nominee’s next of kin (a person’s closest living relative in order: the surviving spouse, children, grandchildren, parents, siblings, cousins) during the judging process. The State may, at any time prior to the announcement of the recipients, exclude any nominations where the State considers, in its sole discretion, that appropriate consent has not been provided by the next of kin or relevant persons.
- Institution nominees can be any company or organisation, private or public, regardless of size or industry, including multi-national subsidiaries, partnerships, franchises, incorporated or unincorporated associations, community organisations and registered charities. Community organisations that operate solely as a social media or online group are not eligible for nomination as an institution.
- All nominations must be submitted by a person other than the nominee and individuals cannot self-nominate. Nominations for institutions may be made by the nominated institution’s authorised officer.
- Nominations must be submitted by persons aged 18 years and over.
- Nominees must be at least 16 years of age on 6 June of the Awards year.
- Groups of people or couples will not normally be eligible, though in exceptional cases the selection panel reserves the right to consider such nominations.
- A person needs only one nomination to be considered; additional nominations do not influence the selection process.
- Sitting local, state and federal members of Parliament, and current vice regal officers are not eligible for nomination but may submit an eligible nomination. Retired members of Parliament and officers will be considered based on work in addition to their official duties.
- A person or institution cannot receive more than one Award. Divisions or business units of institutions who have previously received an Award are not eligible for nomination. The selection panel and the State will, in their absolute discretion, determine whether a previously nominated person or institution is eligible for the 2026 Awards.
- Nominations must address the Nomination Criteria and not exceed the word limit.
- The State is not liable for any costs to the nominator or nominee associated with the Awards including costs incurred in preparing the nomination and travel and accommodation for attendance at the presentation of the Awards.
- The State reserves the right at any time to verify the eligibility of a nomination.
- The State may in its absolute discretion reject or disqualify a nomination at any stage, if it considers that the nomination does not comply with the conditions of entry, the information contained in the nomination is false or misleading, or the nomination brings the Awards into public disrepute or ridicule, or offends public opinion, or reflects unfavourably upon the Awards’ reputation.
Shortlisting
- Shortlisting of nominations will be conducted by Queensland Government representatives prior to the selection panel review.
- Queensland Government representatives will assess all nominations to ensure they are eligible and compliant with the conditions of entry.
- Shortlisted nominations will then be forwarded to the selection panel for further review and final decision-making.
Selection panel
- The Awards will be reviewed by a selection panel comprising representatives from diverse sectors and community groups.
- The selection panel’s decision is final on all matters relating to the Awards, including but not limited to the eligibility of nominees, the selection of Award recipients, and the allocation of Award recipients, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The selection panel and the State reserve the right to ask nominators or nominees to provide additional information.
- The selection panel and the State reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to:
- consider nominations submitted in previous years’ Awards programs for the 2026 Awards
- retain nominations submitted in the 2026 Awards for consideration in future years’ Awards programs
- invite a nominator to submit a new nomination for the nominee in the 2026 Awards program with additional information.
- The number of awards allocated will be at the State and the selection panel’s discretion.
- The Premier retains the discretion to grant a special award, independent of the selection panel’s decisions, to recognise a nominee for their exceptional contributions. This award is at the sole discretion of the Premier and may not align with the standard selection process.
Intellectual property
- The nominator acknowledges and agrees:
- that the material contained in the nomination is not of a confidential nature
- that the State has a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to edit, amend, copy, reproduce, use, publish and communicate to the public, in full or part, the material contained in the nomination
- that the State’s use of material contained in the nomination in accordance with these conditions of entry, will not give rise to any infringement or unauthorised use of any third party intellectual property rights
- that they will not make any claim against the State arising from the exercise of this licence granted to the State, including claims in relation to any moral rights that they may otherwise have
- to indemnify the State against all costs and claims by any third parties arising from a breach of these warranties.
Personal information
- The nominator agrees that:
- his/her/their personal information will be collected by the State for the purpose of administering the Awards using Formidable Forms and the WordPress platform.
- by submitting the nomination, you have obtained any necessary consents from the nominee and any other individual whose personal information is collected as part of the nomination for their personal information to be disclosed
- his/her/their name may be disclosed to the nominee.
- his/her/their personal information will be given to the selection panel for the purpose of judging the Awards.
- in the case of the posthumous nominees, the nominator’s name may be disclosed to the nominee’s next of kin.
- he/she/they have obtained the prior consent of the nominee and any other individual whose personal information is collected as part of the nomination for their personal information to be collected, used, and disclosed by the State and the selection panel for any purpose connected with the Awards.
Promotion
- The nominator consents to his/her/their name and material contained in response to the Nomination Criteria being used in connection with the Awards to report on, promote and publicise the Awards, both now and in future years, including in print and online format such as the State’s Awards website and on the State’s social media channels.
- Award recipients may be requested by the State to be photographed or filmed for promotional purposes and to be profiled on the State’s Awards website and on the State’s social media channels.
General
- To the extent permitted by law, the State is not liable for any loss or damage suffered or incurred by any person or personal property in relation to the Awards including, but not limited to, consequential and indirect losses by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the State, its employees, sub-contractors or agents.
- In no event will the State or selection panel be held responsible for any comment, viewpoint or expression, whether direct or implied, concerning a nomination. By submitting a nomination, the nominator agrees not to bring claims against any member of the selection panel or the State. The nominator must use its reasonable endeavours to obtain from the nominee their agreement not to bring claims against any member of the selection panel or the State.
- The State may change these Conditions of Entry or cancel or vary the Awards at any time, whether before, on or after the closing date.
Privacy information
Your personal information will be handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (IP Act) and the Queensland Privacy Principles (QPPs).
The information collected is necessary to coordinate/administer the QLD Day Awards (the Awards’). If you choose not to provide this information, your nomination will not be able to be progressed.
Personal information contained in the nomination will be provided to a judging panel, comprised of persons outside of the public service and/or industry and business representatives for the purpose of judging the Awards. The contact details that you provide on the nomination form may be used by the State to seek further information regarding your nomination for the Awards and to notify you of upcoming events, initiatives and programs administered by the State. Your name may also be disclosed to the nominee.

- Persons accept these terms and conditions by participating in this Prize Draw.
Entry
- This Prize Draw commences at Thursday 2 April 2026 and closes at 5.00pm AEST on 18 May 2026 (“Entry Period”)
- This Prize Draw is only open to individuals who:
- enter the prize draw (“Entry”) for the Queensland Day Awards during the Entry Period
- place at least one nomination for Queensland Day Awards
- as at 6 June 2026 are aged 18 years or over (“Entrant”)
- To be eligible to win a prize (“Eligible Entry”), the Entry must:
- not be an Entry from an employee of the State involved in the administration of the Queensland Day Awards or this Prize Draw or a member of their immediate family;
- include the Entrant’s name, telephone and email address.
- There is no limitation to the number of entries per Entrant.
- One nomination equals one Entry.
- The State may, at any time accept, reject or remove any Entry that it considers, in its absolute discretion, is inappropriate or is not an Eligible Entry.
Prize
- The Queensland Day Prize Draw prize (“Prize”) is a prize pack including:
- 4x All World Annual Passes to the value of $676
- 1x SkyPoint Dining Experience to the value of $150
- 1x Flight Centre Travel Voucher to the value of $1,000
- The total Prize pack is valued up to $1,826 as at 13 March 2026.
- Prize is subject to Dreamworld, SkyPoint and Flight Centre terms and conditions from time of nominating, including Terms of Use available here: Terms & conditions | Dreamworld (“Dreamworld Terms”), Terms and Conditions | SkyPoint (“SkyPoint Dining Experience”) and Gift Card Terms of Use for Flight Centre (“Flight Centre Terms”). The Prize must be used according to Dreamworld Terms, SkyPoint Dining Experience Terms and Conditions and Flight Centre Terms of Use.
- The Prize will be awarded to one Entrant, who has submitted an Eligible Entry, picked at random.
- The Prize is not redeemable for cash and is not exchangeable, transferable or refundable.
- Any additional costs associated with redeeming the Prize are not included.
- If the Prize is unavailable for any reason, the State may, in its absolute discretion and without notice, substitute the Prize with another prize of equal or higher value as determined by the State to be reasonable.
Winner
- The Prize Draw is a game of chance, and the Winner will be the first entry drawn at random by a State representative from the pool of eligible entries.
- On Friday 12 June 2026, the State will randomly select a winner (“Winner”) for the Prize.
- The Winner will be notified by 5.00pm AEST on Monday 15 June 2026 using the winning Entrant’s contact details provided on the Entry. It is the Entrant’s responsibility to ensure that their contact details are correct and up-to-date.
- The Winner must accept the Prize by 5.00pm AEST Friday 19 June 2026. If the Prize is not accepted by this date, it will be forfeited, and no substitute or compensation will be provided and the Winner will not have any claim whatsoever against the State.
- To accept the Prize, the Winner must produce evidence of identity and age in the form of a Queensland Government issued photo identification or proof of identity.
- If a Winner cannot be contacted on the contact details provided, a winning Entry is found to not be an Eligible Entry or the Winner does not accept the Prize by 5.00pm AEST on Friday 19 June 2026, the State will deem the Prize as unclaimed and forfeited and randomly select another Winner. This process for selecting a Winner will be repeated if required.
- By entering the Prize Draw, the Winner agrees to:
- Use the Prize pack according to Dreamworld, SkyPoint and Flight Centre Terms and Conditions; and
- the State publishing their name in print and online including, without limitation, on the State’s websites and social media accounts (including Facebook and Instagram).
Personal information
- The Entrant acknowledges and agrees that their personal information provided as part of the Entry will be collected, used and disclosed by the State for the purpose of administering this Prize Draw, including conducting the draw and notifying the Winner.
- The Winner acknowledges and agrees that the State may use and disclose their name in print and online including, without limitation, on the State’s website and social media accounts (including Facebook and Instagram), for the purpose of reporting on and promoting the Prize Draw.

General
- If this Prize Draw is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the State, the State may, in its absolute discretion and to the fullest extent permitted by law, modify, suspend or terminate this Prize Draw.
- The State must ensure compliance with all terms and conditions imposed by Dreamworld, SkyPoint Dining Experience, and Flight Centre regarding the use of their products as competition prizes and the promotion of the competition.
- To the extent permitted by law, the State and its employees, agents, and contractors are not liable for any costs and expenses, claims, injuries, loss or damage suffered or incurred by any person in relation to the prize draw, including but not limited to, consequential and indirect losses by reason of any act or omission deliberate or negligent, by the State and its employees, agents, and contractors.
- The State may vary or amend these terms and conditions at any time, whether during or after the Entry Period.
- The State’s decision in relation to any aspect of this Prize Draw is final and binding on the Entrant and no correspondence will be entered into.
- These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland.
About the Queensland Day Arts Competition
The Queensland Day Arts Competition (Competition) invites kindy and school aged students to showcase their creativity and celebrate Queensland’s unique identity. Kindy and school age students are encouraged to create a visual art piece that reflects the theme “What Queensland Means to You” and upload an image of their artwork along with a short description for submission (Work). This is a wonderful opportunity for Queensland’s young artists to express their pride and connection to our great State.
Awards Criteria
Queensland school students or their parent/guardian must upload an image of a visual art piece that represents “What Queensland Means to You.” Entries may include drawings, paintings, photographs, digital artworks, and mixed media pieces created using materials such as pastels, oil pastels, pen, pencil, charcoal, acrylic, water colour, oils, collage, or similar mediums. Please note that videos and three-dimensional sculptures are not eligible for submission.
Note: Each entrant may submit only one piece of Work for the competition.

Celebrate Queensland Day
The highly commended recipients and winners of the Competition will be announced as part of the Queensland Day celebrations on Friday 5 June 2026 in the lead up to Queensland Day. The highly commended and winning Work will be publicly displayed at the Domestic Terminal in the BNE Gallery space, following Queensland Day.
Important Notes
- Entries open at 9.00 am (AEST) on Thursday 2 April 2026, and close at 5.00 pm (AEST) on Friday, 22 May 2026. Entries received outside of this time period will not be accepted.
- The Competition is open to children aged 4 – 18 years old residing in Queensland. The State of Queensland (State) reserves the right to request proof of eligibility, such as age and residency. Failure to provide such proof upon request may result in disqualification.
- Entries will be judged within the following age categories: Age 4 – Age 7, Age 8 – Age 11, Age 12 – 15, and Age 16 – 18.
- By submitting an entry, entrants and/ or the parent/guardian confirm that the Work is the entrant/s original creation, does not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights, moral rights or other rights of any third party, and has not been created using artificial intelligence (AI). Work involving plagiarism, copying, tracing, or assistance from others (other than reasonable guidance from a parent/ guardian), as well as those that violate copyright laws, will not be accepted.
- Images that include logos, references to brands, or licensed characters or images (e.g. characters from movies, books, cartoons, comics, or TV shows) will not be accepted.
- Participation in the Competition requires consent from the entrant and their parent/ guardian, which is required when the entry is submitted. This consent also includes permission for the State to publish the entrant’s first name, age category, suburb and Work, as well as use them in any activities, promotions, or materials organised by the State. Additionally, this consent includes permission for the entrant’s Work and details to be used as part of the judging process.
- All entries must be uploaded in the specified format (e.g., JPEG, PNG, or PDF) and must not exceed the maximum file size of 2MB.
- A confirmation email will be issued following submission of each entry. If no confirmation is received, entrants or their parent/ guardian should contact the State at [email protected] before the entry period closes.
- Eligible entries will be judged based on creativity, originality, and relevance to the theme “What Queensland Means to You.” As part of the process, judges will review the entrant’s Work, which includes both the artwork and short description. The judging process will be impartial, and the judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
- Entrants and/ or their parent/ guardian are required to retain the original copy of their Work until after the public display period.
- Highly commended and winning entrants will be required to provide a high-resolution scan of their artwork for display purposes by Friday 12 June.
- The parent/guardian will also receive an email notification once the highly commended recipients and winners have been announced, and the results will be published on the Competition website.
- Highly commended and winning entries will be showcased at the Domestic Terminal in the BNE Gallery space following the announcement of the highly commended recipients and winners, featuring the entrant’s first name, age category, suburb and Work.
- Entrants and/or their parent/guardian may choose to opt out of the Competition at any time prior to the Competition closing by providing written notice to the State at [email protected]. Upon withdrawal, the entry will no longer be eligible as a highly commended or winning recipient, and the State will not consider the entry for the Competition and will not use the entry for media or promotional purposes related to the Competition
- Entries that do not meet the eligibility criteria, contain incomplete information, fail to comply with the Competition’s Terms and Conditions, or include content deemed inappropriate, offensive, or discriminatory may be deemed invalid and disqualified at the State’s discretion.

Queensland Day Arts Competition – Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern the Queensland Day Arts Competition (Competition) as part of the broader Queensland Day program.
1.2 The Conditions of entry for the Competition forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
1.3 By participating in the Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions including the Conditions of entry.
2. Eligibility
2.1 To be eligible to enter the Competition the entrant must:
- be aged between 4 and 18 years and be:
- 2.1.a.1 enrolled in a Queensland kindergarten program, or
- 2.1.a.2 Queensland school, or
- 2.1.a.3 registered for Home Education in Queensland
- be either
- 2.1.b.1 the entrant themselves, or
- 2.1.b.2 parent/guardian of entrant
- have obtained parental or guardian consent (unless the entrant is 18 years old)
- submit a true and complete entry including entrants Work, entrants first name, entrant’s age category, entrant’s suburb and their parent/ guardian contact details, which is submitted online at www.qld.gov.au/qldday
2.2 Groups of people will not normally be eligible, though in exceptional cases the judging panel reserves the right to consider such entries.
2.3 A person can only submit one entry; additional entries will not be accepted.
2.4 The State reserves the right to verify the eligibility of an entrant at any time.
3. Submission process
3.1 Nominations must be submitted online via the official Competition website at qld.gov.au/qldday
3.2 A entry will only be deemed valid if its meets all the eligibility requirements outlined in Section 2.1
3.3 Entries close at 5.00pm (AEST) Friday 22 May 2026 (the Closing Date)
3.4 All entries must be received by the Closing Date. No responsibility will be accepted for late, lost, incomplete or misdirected entries.
3.5 Notification of highly commended and winning entries:
- The State will make reasonable efforts to notify the highly commended recipients and winners in each age category after the entry period has closed.
3.6 Withdrawal from the Competition:
- An entrant and/or their parent/guardian may withdraw from the Competition by providing written notice to the State at any time prior to the announcement of the highly commended recipients and winners.
- Upon withdrawal, the entrant will no longer be eligible to be named as a highly commended recipient or winner in the Competition.
- The State will confirm the withdrawal in writing to the entrant and/or their parent/guardian.
3.7 The State reserves the right to reject or disqualify any entry at its absolute discretion, including but not limited to cases where:
- The entry does not comply with these Terms and Conditions.
- The entry and information provided is false and misleading.
- The entry is not the entrant’s original creation, infringes on third-party intellectual property rights, moral rights or other rights of any third party, or has been created using artificial intelligence (AI). An entry involving plagiarism, copying, tracing, or assistance from others, as well as those that violate copyright laws, will not be accepted.
- The entry brings the Competition into public disrepute, offends public opinion, or reflects unfavourably on the Competition’s reputation.
4. Entries
4.1 Entries are open to anyone in Queensland between the age of 4 years old and 18 years old.
4.2 Each entrant may only submit one piece of Work in the respective category.
4.3 Entries must be submitted via the official Competition website and include all required details as outlined in Section 2.1 (d).
4.4 The State reserves the right to disqualify any entries that are incomplete, fraudulent or do not comply with these Terms and Conditions.
5. Judging
5.1 The entries Work will be reviewed by a judging panel comprising representatives from the State.
5.2 Eligible entries will be judged based on creativity, originality, and relevance to the theme “What Queensland Means to You”.
5.3 The judging panel’s decision is final on all matters relating to the Competition, including but not limited to the eligibility of entries, the selection of highly commended recipients and winners, and no correspondence will be entered into.
6. Winning
6.1 Highly commended recipients and winners will be announced on Friday 5 June 2026 in the lead up to Queensland Day 2026.
6.2 Highly commended recipients and winners will receive recognition as part of the Queensland Day celebrations.
6.3 Highly commended and winning entries will be showcased at the Domestic Terminal in the BNE Gallery space following the announcement of the highly commended recipients and winners, featuring the entrant’s first name, age category, suburb and Work.
6.4 Winning entries will receive a Queensland Day prize pack (valued up to $70) including:
- 1 x QLD Day t- shirt
- 1 x QLD Day cap
6.5 The Queensland Day prize pack is not redeemable for cash and is not exchangeable, transferable, or refundable.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 The State will obtain all necessary approvals from the entrant and/or their parent/guardian before using the entrant’s Work or information about the entrant for promotional and marketing purposes related to the Competition.
7.2 The State will not claim ownership of any intellectual property belonging to the entrants featured in the Competition.
7.3 By submitting an entry to the Competition, the entrant and/or their parent/guardian grants the State an unconditional, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, transferable and
sub-licensable licence to use, reproduce, adapt, modify, publish, distribute, and communicate the Work contained in the entry for the purposes related to the Competition, including promotional and marketing activities
7.4 By submitting an entry to the Competition, the entrant and/or their parent/guardian consent to the State attributing the entrant as the author of the Work contained in the entry by using the entrant’s first name, age category and suburb when reproducing, publishing or communicating the Work to the public. The State will generally reproduce, publish or communicate the materials in full. However, the details of the Work may be used under the licence in clause 7.3 of the Terms and Conditions at the State’s discretion and the entrant and/or their parent/guardian consent to any such use.
8. Privacy
8.1 Personal information collected, used and disclosed as part of the Competition will be handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) and the Queensland Privacy Principles.
8.2 By submitting an entry, the entrants’ parent/ guardian (or entrant, if the entrant is 18 years old) consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information including first name and age category for the purposes of administering the competition.
8.3 The entrants’ parent/guardian (or entrant, if the entrant is 18 years old) agrees that their personal information will be collected by the State for the purpose of administering the Competition and promoting the highly commended recipients and winners using the WP Engine software.
8.4 Information provided using Formidable Forms and the WordPress platform will be stored securely in Australia and only transferred outside Australia where reasonably necessary to administer the Competition and subject to the State’s privacy protections.
8.5 Apart from disclosures consented to in other clauses or authorised by law, the State will not disclose personal information to third parties without the entrant’s consent.
9. Dispute Resolution
9.1 In the event of any dispute arising in connection with the Competition, the decision of the State will be final and binding.
9.2 No correspondence or discussion will be entered into regarding the outcome of the Competition.
10. Fraudulent or Unlawful Activity
10.1 The State reserves the right to disqualify any entry that it reasonably suspects to be fraudulent, tampered with, or submitted in violation of these Terms and Conditions or any applicable laws.
11. Use of Third-Party Platforms
11.1 The State is not responsible for any technical issues, delays, or failures of third-party platforms used in connection with the Competition, including but not limited to online voting systems or social media platforms.
12. Indemnity
12.1 By submitting an entry to the Competition, the entrant and/or the parent/guardian warrants that the Work contained in the entry is the entrant’s original creation and does not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights, moral rights or other rights of any third party and agrees to indemnify the State against any loss or damage caused by breach of this warranty.
12.2 To the extent permitted by law, the State is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury whatsoever (including, but not limited to, indirect or consequential loss) resulting from this Competition, including in relation to damage to entries.
13. General
13.1 The State reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or cancel the Competition at any time, whether before, on, or after the Closing Date. Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will be communicated to entrants via the official Competition website.
13.2 The Competition and these Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Queensland.

Your personal information will be handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (IP Act) and the Queensland Privacy Principles (QPPs).
The State of Queensland through the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (‘the State’) is collecting personal information to administer the Queensland Day Arts Competition (‘the Competition’).
The contact details you provide will be used only to administer the Competition, including verifying eligibility, seeking further information about the entry if required, and notification of a winner or highly commended recipient of the Competition.
If you do not provide the requested personal information, we will be unable to accept the entry. By agreeing to the 2026 Queensland Day Arts Competition – Conditions of entry and Terms and Conditions, the State may publish the entrant’s first name, age category, suburb, and entrant’s Work online or in promotional materials. Highly commended and winning entries may also be displayed publicly, including at the Brisbane Domestic Terminal BNE Gallery.
You should be aware that information provided by you may be subject to disclosure under the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld). Your personal information will not be otherwise used or disclosed without your consent unless authorised or required by law.
If at any time you would like your personal information removed from our database or you wish to withdraw an entry before the Competition closing date, please email [email protected] with your request. Please note that once Competition Work have been published, withdrawal does not require the State to remove the Work already published.
The Competition is being conducted using Formidable Forms, a WordPress-based online form used to collect, store, and manage information submitted by users through a website. Information you provide using Formidable Forms and the WordPress platform will be stored securely in Australia and only transferred outside Australia where reasonably necessary to administer the program and subject to the State’s privacy protections.
