On 6 June, we mark the anniversary of the day that Queensland stood on its own, officially separating from New South Wales in 1859.
It’s our day to get together and celebrate our state – our way! This year, we’re celebrating everything that makes our state great and we want you to be part of it!

This QLD Day we’re shouting out the best of our state.
From burgers to beaches, cafes to camping spots , Queenslanders voted for their faves across 15 categories.
Voting closed on Thursday 28 May. Stay tuned to see who will be crowned the best in Queensland in the lead up to QLD Day.
Plus, one lucky Queenslander will walk away with a QLD Day prize pack. The winner will be notified before 5pm on Monday 15 June 2026.
